With this modern garden we limited the planting beds so as to accentuate the feature of this garden that distinguishes it from most NYC outdoor spaces: its spaciousness. The horizontal clear cedar fence acts as the perfect backdrop to the open yard and blue stone patio, giving it a clean palette for phase two, which consisted of pots and more container plantings. The steel retention walls with blue stone caps terrace the garden, while the bamboo-filled blackened steel planter box pops out of the patio, connecting the lower deck to the garden patio. This outdoor living space allows the kids to run free and folks to keep an eye on them from any angle.
